Choose the cable series, then the length in feet and metres. Check the engine model and year, control generation, end fittings and travel: engine brand alone does not guarantee compatibility. The same product pages are available by engine, cable manufacturer or model.

Nominal ordering length; this is not a separate sheath measurement. Check the marking on the existing cable and do not calculate sheath length by subtracting travel.

For a new installation, measure the actual route from control to engine and consult the selected series guide. Allowance for outboard movement depends on the manufacturer: Dometic / Teleflex specifies 4 ft (1.22 m); Multiflex specifies 3 ft (0.91 m). Round up to the next available length. When replacing a correctly installed cable, use its overall length or marking without adding this allowance again. Ordering length is not a separate sheath measurement.
