Detailed description

Effective antifouling against fouling organisms, slime, aquatic plants and animals. A premium hard antifouling suitable for professional and consumer applications on boats in both fresh and salt water. The hard, scrubbable finish provides protection for performance of up to one year. Ultra 300 can be burnished to achieve a smoother finish with maximum glide through the water, and can be scrubbed and cleaned when necessary. Ideal for fast motorboats.

Preparation

PREVIOUSLY COATED ANTIFOULING SURFACES
In good condition: All fouling and contamination must be completely removed, including the leached layer. Wash with high-pressure fresh water (3000 psi/207 bar) and/or scrape or wet sand using P80–P120 abrasive paper. Do not dry sand. If the previous antifouling is incompatible or unknown, seal with a suitable International barrier/sealer coat.

In poor condition: Remove all traces of antifouling with Interstrip.

PRIMERS

All untreated substrate preparation methods are detailed in the corresponding primer technical data sheets.

  • Untreated fiberglass: Prime with Gelshield 200 for preventive osmosis treatment, or Primocon.
  • Steel/Iron/Lead/Wood: Interprotect or Primocon.

Advice

Mixing: Stir the product thoroughly before use until a uniform consistency is achieved.

Thinning: Thinning is not recommended. Antifouling performance may be compromised if the correct dry film thickness is not applied.

Cleaner: YTA085 Thinners No. 3

Airless Spray: Pressure: 176–210 bar / 2500–3050 psi. Nozzle size: 517–521.

Ventilation and humidity control: Ensure adequate ventilation during product use.

Other: Antifoulings should only be wet sanded. Never dry sand antifoulings or remove them using a flame torch. After immersion, the true colour will appear.

Important Notes

To avoid premature failure, ensure the correct amount of paint is applied according to the recommended coverage rate. Product temperature must be between 5°C and 35°C. Ambient temperature must be between 5°C and 35°C. Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point and below 35°C.
