Detailed description
The IC-M400BBE features a two-piece black box configuration. All function control, including DSC operation, can be performed from the COMMANDMIC™ HM-195B/SW, and the RF unit, IC-M400BBE, can be installed in a concealed location.
The new menu system is shared with the latest Icom models. The bottom line of the dot-matrix display shows key software functions, which can be toggled using the left and right buttons.
Built-in bidirectional active noise cancellation reduces background noise by up to 90% and improves both transmitted voice and incoming calls. Hear and be heard more clearly.
The IC-M400BBE has a built-in 10W amplifier that boosts the audio output of an external speaker. The PA function allows you to make announcements through the microphone as if it were a loudspeaker, and the foghorn can also be emitted from the external speaker.
The built-in DSC clock function monitors channel 70 (DSC channel), even while receiving another channel. DSC functions include: distress, individual, group, all vessels, urgency, safety, position request/report, sounding request, and DSC test calls.
A GNSS antenna is supplied with the IC-M400BBE.
When connected to an external GPS receiver, the current position and time are displayed on the Commandmic screen. Upon receiving DSC information from another vessel, the radio can transfer it to a navigation device via NMEA 0183 connectivity.
When connected to the optional MA-510TR/MA-500TR Class B AIS transponder, the AIS target call function allows you to set up an individual DSC call from the MA-510TR/MA-500TR.
This transceiver also features:
Compatibility with MarineCommander™.
AquaQuake™ water drainage function (HM-195B/SW).
IPX7 waterproof protection for both IC-M400BBE and HM-195B/SW (1 m depth for 30 minutes).
Dual/tri-watch function for monitoring channel 16 and/or the call channel.
Priority and normal scan.
