Detailed description
Transducer Garmin Panoptix PS70 · no display
Display and chartplotter are not included. A compatible Garmin chartplotter must be purchased separately. Screens shown in use images are illustrative.
The Garmin Panoptix PS70 adds underwater information to a compatible marine installation. It helps you study fish and structure using the technology provided by this part number and relate the screen image to the transducer's position. It suits users selecting a specific solution who need to understand both its capabilities and the components required to complete the system. The stated part number identifies the supplied version; accessories and installation arrangements can differ between models in the same family.
Version, modes and components
This version supports: LiveVü Down / RealVü 3D Down / RealVü 3D Historical. Compatible chartplotter required, not included.
Reading fish and structure
Live information helps reveal changes in the scene and fish reactions while working a spot. For a useful image, adjust range, direction and display settings on the compatible plotter. The beam does not observe all surrounding water at once: coverage depends on its opening angle and the sensor direction. An advertised maximum depth is not guaranteed in every situation. Salinity, suspended matter, bottom type, turbulence and installation all affect performance.
Compatibility and connection
A Garmin chartplotter expressly compatible with this sonar or its processing module is required. Check compatibility for the exact equipment and software version: a Garmin display or network socket alone does not guarantee operation. Sonar images use the network connection supported by the system, rather than an NMEA 2000 instrument connection. A display, battery and navigation chartplotter are not included. Unlisted adapters and extension cables are purchased separately.
Mounting and setup
Choose a position that lets the sensor face the intended area and operate in clean water. Trolling-motor, independent-pole and thru-hull installations require different hardware. The box list identifies what is supplied with this part number. A thru-hull installation must be suitable for the hull and correctly sealed. Protect cables from strain and excessive bending, leaving enough movement for the motor or mount.
Before connecting, check supply voltage, the specified fuse and cable routing. In black-box systems, the transducer works with its compatible sonar module; a separately sold transducer cannot necessarily connect directly to any chartplotter. Configure orientation and complete Garmin’s required calibration steps. Check the installation and test the supported modes before the first fishing trip.

Use and care
Rinse exposed parts with fresh water and inspect fittings and connections regularly. Protect the transducer from impacts and keep its working surfaces clear. Sonar information complements observation and responsible navigation. The stated shipping weight is a logistics estimate including packaging, separate from equipment weight.
