Detailed description
Garmin STRIKER Cast castable fishfinder without GPS
Turn a compatible smartphone or tablet into a sonar display to explore the bottom and locate fish from a bank, dock or boat. STRIKER Cast houses its sonar sensor in a small floating body. Cast it with a fishing rod and stream readings wirelessly to Garmin’s STRIKER Cast app.
Portable sonar for different fishing locations
The 75 g sensor is easy to carry with your fishing gear and lets you explore spots beyond a permanently installed hull transducer. Cast and retrieve it while observing changes in the bottom returns. It works in fresh and salt water and includes a reading mode for ice fishing. Read the image on a mobile device; the sensor does not contain a separate screen.
Traditional 2D sonar and flasher mode
Traditional 2D sonar shows depth, bottom returns and fish echoes. Flasher mode provides another way to follow returns during stationary fishing. Adjust gain and range, enable fish symbols with depth readings and check water temperature. These tools help you examine a location before choosing where to present your bait.
Wireless range and sonar depth
Data streams over a distance of up to 60 m between sensor and mobile device, depending on water and surrounding conditions. The specified sonar depth range extends from less than 0.6 m to 45 m. Communication range and sonar depth are different measurements: one describes separation from the phone, the other the water below the floating sensor.
App and initial setup
Charge the sensor, install the free STRIKER Cast app on a compatible Apple or Android phone or tablet, then pair the devices. Place the sensor in the water to start receiving readings. View sonar and adjust its presentation through the app. The phone or tablet shown in the product images is illustrative and is not included.
Rechargeable battery and automatic power
The built-in lithium-ion battery recharges over USB. Garmin specifies about 10 hours of typical use and approximately 1.5 hours for charging; actual battery life depends on use. The sensor powers on when floating in water and switches off when removed, saving energy between uses. A USB cable is supplied; a mains power adapter is not included.
Floating, water-resistant design
The floating body has an IPX7 water rating. Garmin recommends fishing line rated for at least 9 kg when casting it. The sensor operates while floating on the surface; it does not need to be submerged to measure below it. Follow the manufacturer’s operating and charging temperature limits.
GPS and mapping
This version does not contain GPS in the sensor. It streams sonar readings to the app but does not offer map creation based on the built-in GPS of the Cast GPS model. Choose it for castable sonar without that additional receiver.

Operating information
Wireless reception and sonar performance depend on water, bottom, waves and mobile-device position. Battery life varies with use. The 75 g weight refers to the sensor, not the shipping package. Smartphone, tablet, fishing rod and mains power adapter are sold separately.
